Erica Hyatt is a visual artist based in the Netherlands. She has degrees in biology, expository writing, psychology and statistics and a master's in psychology from New York University.
She aims to understand the inner world of the subjects she portrays; her paintings are a search to capture the essence of a person on canvas. This is then depicted with sensitivity and care. Her work is a journey of discovery into herself, humanity and our environment; it is often autobiographical and therefore adventurous and sparkling. Her sense of tone and colour, loose touch and unusual shape of the panel are characteristic of her work.
